Pakistan, Cambodia Strengthen Cooperation in Technology and Innovation

ISLAMABAD – Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan and Cambodia’s Minister of Commerce Cham Nimul visited NUST and the National Science and Technology Park (NSTP) in Islamabad. They aimed to strengthen bilateral cooperation in technology, innovation, and industry-led research. The delegation was welcomed by NUST leadership and (Retd.) Air Marshal Rizwan.

During the visit, officials briefed the Ministers on NUST’s integrated academia–industry–government model. They highlighted its vision of building a connected ecosystem for education, research, commercialization, and industrial partnerships. The delegation explored projects in artificial intelligence, semiconductor design, smart city technologies, robotics, aerospace engineering, biotechnology, and digital infrastructure.

Jam Kamal Khan praised NUST’s innovation and its contribution to Pakistan’s knowledge economy. He emphasized that technology-driven growth is key to trade diplomacy. The Minister also lauded researchers, startups, and industry partners at NSTP, noting their role in enhancing Pakistan’s global competitiveness.

Cambodia’s Minister Cham Nimul praised Pakistan’s structured innovation ecosystem. She said the integrated model offers a practical blueprint for emerging economies. She expressed interest in collaboration on digital infrastructure, research exchange, and technology transfer to strengthen economic ties.

The delegation visited advanced laboratories, observing aerospace control models, AI-based smart city systems, and semiconductor projects. Discussions focused on export potential, joint ventures, and supporting startups. Both Ministers reaffirmed commitment to deepening Pakistan–Cambodia relations through innovation, research collaboration, and private-sector engagement.
